Hoarfrost
2007 16.3hh Gray Thoroughbred Mare
By Texas Hattrick, out of Winalot (by Seattle Slew)
Retired from Flat Racing
This great young mare is one of our only daughters out of the spectacular broodmare, Winalot. Winalot has been our most successful broodmare in recent years, producing many Grade I winners, including Alottasmoke (Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner), Alottapunch (Breeders Cup Classic winner) and Smokin Winner (multiple Grade I winner), among other successful foals. Hoarfrost's sire also was an inredible racehorse for us, winning the Kentucky Derby along with many other Grade I stakes. Texas Hattrick has done really well as a sire, too, with several foals burning up the track.
Hoarfrost is no exception to this rule, winning several Grade I races and also placing in the top three in all of the Triple Crown races this season. She has earned over $4.5 million on the track and has only run out of the top three a handful of times in her career. We plan on retiring her to brood in 2011 and are thrilled to have our first Winalot daughter join our broodmare band!
