Winalot
1989 16.2hh Bay Thoroughbred Mare
By Seattle Slew, out of Winter Snow (by Showdown)
Retired from Grand Prix Jumping, Grand Prix Dressage and Broodmare
"Winalot" is a beautiful older mare who is one of the foundation horses for all of Serendipity Farms Inc. She was a great show horse for us, not to mention a fantastic broodmare, with several Grade One winning offspring, as well as some exceptional show horses.

Winalot is the sweetest mare you have ever seen, at least now that she has 'mellowed' some! When she was younger, she was quite a handful in the barn and in the show ring. Now she is sweet and mellow, she almost always listens to any commands she is given and is a joy to ride. Of course, we don't ride her much anymore, but she still enjoys getting out on the trail or doing a little schooling in the arena.

Winalot competed at the Grand Prix Level in both show jumping and to a lesser extent, dressage for many years, right up until about 17 or 18 years of age. She was a successful performer, earning many top three placings, as well as several championships and one show champion title. She has wonderful gaits, smooth and flowing with a lot of impulsion. She does have a tendency common to Thoroughbreds in dressage of not bending her knee enough while in the piaffe, but other than that..She is a better show jumper than a dressage horse, but she likes to do both.

She is a daughter of SEATLE SLEW, the 1977 Triple Crown winner and one of the best sires in Thoroughbred history. Thorough him she traces back to Bold Ruler, Poker, Round Table, Polynesian, Princequillo and Hail to Reason. Her dam, Winter Snow, is a Australian bred mare who produced several stakes horses. Through her dam's line, Winalot recieves a lot of European bloodlines, including horses from Great Britian, Italy, Ireland and France. This gives Winalot's foals the pedigree to win both on the dirt and on the turf.

This mare is an INCREDIBLE broodmare, producing many starters, stakes winners and Grade One winners on the track. She has also produced some execptional show horses when crossed with other breeds. Some of her most illustrious foals include:
Alottasmoke - 2001 Thoroughbred Stallion - Multiple Grade I winner on both turf and dirt, over many distances, 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner, as well as many, many other races. He raced successfully until age five.
Easy Winner - 2000 Appendix Quarter Horse Stallion - Grade I winner on the track at age two and three, very successful show horse after his retirement. Perhaps the leading sire of AQHA racehorses in the Sim world today.
Alottapunch - 2006 Thoroughbred Stallion - Multiple Grade I winner, winner of the Breeders Cup Classic
Hoarfrost - 2007 Thoroughbred Mare - Multiple Grade I winner, top three in all Triple Crown races, earned over $4.5 million on the track.
